Studied Mechanical Engineering with Aeronautics at the University of Glasgow. Graduated in 2011 with the highest overall honours degree in the faculty of engineering.

Researching novel glass fibres at the Optoelectronics Research Centre. Research currently involves the fabrication of non-oxide glass fibres.  As well as conventional circular fibres and microstructured fibres, research will also focus on making non-circular fibre in addition to metal core fibre and its applications. Metal and chalcogenide core in oxide glass will stem from this which leads into generation of supercontinuum through chalcogenide core fibres.
